The "Celebration of Joe Pierpont's Life" happened on Saturday, August 9. It went the way Joe had wanted it - fond remembrances and funny stories. Sure, some tears were shed but it was a wonderful event remembering the man. It was attended by people spanning literally his entire life!

Both myself and Joe's daughter Tracy Whelan would like to thank not only those who were able to attend but also those who contacted us expressing their feelings during this time.

Tracy and I selected pictures beginning from his childhood all the way up to going to the opera in tux and tails shortly before his passing. Several people asked that I load the pictures on this site. They can be viewed here: Celebration of Joe's Life pictures.

Joe Pierpont's obituary is on the online version of the New York Times. http://www.legacy.com/Link.asp?I=LS000109278329X

Thank you!

David McReynolds created an absolutely WONDERFUL slide show using pictures he took at the YPSL Reunion! Unfortunately I cannot use the software via this website. However, the pictures can still be viewed by Clicking here.

Welcome to the YPSL Reunion Website. By all appearances, everyone had a good time!

The cost of the web hosting company for this website is paid for to the end of May, 2008, as is the domain name. If you are interested in continuing this website past May, please let George Graham know. Until then, he will load bios, new and old photos, etc., to the site. If the site is continued, he has volunteered to do that too. The web hosting is $6.99 per month. Depending on how long it is desired to keep the site up and how many people want to contribute towards the cost, that donation will vary.

If you're interested in seeing a nice modern rendition of the Internationale, Click here.

From Marty Oppenheimer: Here's a cartoon version of the communist manifesto is available on youtube.com. Really well-done, and funny. Click here.

Fraternally,

Joe Pierpont
